These past couple weeks have been incredible!! Hope you're all doing well.
As always, lets get into the Spiritual Thought!!
PENSAMENTO ESPIRITUAL!!
I have a goal to read the Book of Mormon in Portuguese every three months, so my personal studies are usually being used reading this incredible miracle.
Today I'll finish Alma and start Helaman, and the War Chapters have been so fun to read these past couple days (Alma chapters 45-63, continues in Helaman). The incredible heroes of Moroni, Teancum, Lehi, and other leaders and captains have always impressed my with their strategies and most importantly their trust in the Lord!
I've always wondered why the War Chapters were of such great importance that Mórmon felt impressed to leave them in.
The truth that the Book of Mormon was written for our day needs to be taken into account. So the question is:
What do the War Chapters have to do with our day?
Here's the answer I found: so that we can liken the scriptures to ourselves to receive the Lord’s protection from the constant and increasing attacks of the adversary!!
President Nelson once said: "The battle with sin is real. The adversary is quadrupling his efforts to disrupt testimonies and impede the work of the Lord. He is arming his minions with potent weapons to keep us from partaking of the joy and love of the Lord. (Russell M. Nelson, “We Can Do Better and Be Better,” Ensign or Liahona, May 2019, 68)
I wont spoil the War Chapters for those who haven't studied thouroughly, but really it tell us to prepare ourselves!!

WEEKLY RECAP
Really this week has been a ton of finding, contacting EVERYONE in the street. Can't judge people by their looks, you have to speak to them, especially about their interest in Jesus Christ and the importance of baptism in their lives!
A blessing and miracle this week was our friend José Rodrigo was baptized!! He is an old sweet Catholic man who has been coming to church ever since we invited him in the street! He came to realize the importance of revelation, the priesthood and its authority, and the importance of being baptized like our Savior. Ele overcame tons of challenges to be able to take this step in his old age. He left Coffee, a bad situation with another woman, and was cured of câncer even. He had a dream a couple days before his baptism of two men dressed in white, one in a pool of water and the other tending a fire. He told us then that he saw my son, Elder Silva in the water, and so I had to be the one tending the fire. So to us missionaries, it was decided, E. Silva would baptize in the water, and I would baptize him by fire. It was such a miraculous experience. He is now preparing to recieve the priesthood!
Speaking of that, Otávio our most recent convert just recieved the priesthood!! We will plan a temple day with him soon!!
Really that's it, the work keeps going, cant complain about the heat but I'd love for this humidity to disappear!!
