FUN FACT:
Brazilian weeks start on Sunday (Domingo). Monday is called "Segunda-freia", or "second fair", or just "Segunda". It continues the rest of the week: three, four, five... Not really too interesting, but I guess I've always had the mindset of Sunday being the last day of the week. Maybe it was just because the next day was usually a new week of school. BUT I challenge YOU to change your mindset and start your week on Sunday. It is bringing me more peace the more I ponder it.
Also, it's really fun converting Celcius to Fahrenheit and Kilos to Pounds lol. Try it out!

SUNDAY
Lots of time to do companionship study, so I've been working on my Portuguese prayers. I can do simple ones, but I want to be able to be more fluid and have more to say.
We attended Sacrament Meeting, and each week we are told to prepare a five minute talk because the Presidente will choose three or four random missionaries to speak that day. I was not chosen this week.
Elder Kelly, Teuscher, and I were in charge of teaching the Priesthood class aftre sacrament meeting. We were assigned Chapter 4 of Preach My Gospel, which was awesome because its a perfect chapter for people to share their personal experience. It was a 50 minute lesson, and we did great! Good questions and participation. However, we only taught for about half an hour before things stated getting repetitive. Luckily, Presedente Fusco came in. He is our Branch President, and this guy can talk for hours. He's pretty good at English, and he's very fiery. He enjoys talking about all the "Stoopid Missionaries" that he has encountered, and how we should learn from them lol. Also, Brazilians can't really say the word "prompting", they say "prompet" instead. Its hilarious. Anyways, we asked him one question with like 25 min left in our lesson, and we ended up going almost 10 min over hahah. We love Presidente Fusco.
Sang Gethsemane in three different languages (gorgeous song): English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Spanish is impossible to sing to.
MONDAY
Stairs are gonna be my 13th reason ughhhh. We are on the fifth floor so we have like a million stairs between our room and our meals and classes ughhh hahah.
Chill day, we played pickleball and basketball for Physical Activity. If you want an I dea on how much I'm balling out, they call me John STOCKton.
Longest day of my life.
TUESDAY
TEMPLE TRIP!
We headed out to the São Paulo temple at 6am! Everyone in São Paulo drives like they have a death wish. Motorcycles are weaving in and out, cutting people off, using the sidewalks, it's crazy. Cars appear out of nowhere in front of ya. Roadragers in the US would have an aneurysm if they came here.
The São Paulo temple was gorgeous. We did initiatories and Endowment, and it was really cool to listen to the same blessings I memorized while working, but in a different language. Amazing.
The Celestial room was unbelievable. Super small, but the chandelier was super pretty and unique. The two walls opposite of each other were a stained glass style granite, punctured by protruding quartz crystals along random intervals. Its hard to explain but if you can find it on google youll see what I mean.
We go to Campinas Temple tomorrow to do Sealings!
WEDNESDAY
TEMPLE TRIP!
The Campinas Temple is like an hour and a half away so had a bunch of time to memorize O Primeiro Visão on the way. Almost got it.
We did sealings and Endowment today, mist of the boys have never done sealing so it was really cool for them! To bad the couldn't really figure out the blessing bc it was all in Portuguese haha. This temple is bigger than São Paulo. This Endowment session was interesting, it was the first time I've ever moved rooms during the session for telestial and terrestial rooms. Soo cool! Definitely woke me up. The Celestial room was like a long hall with multiple infinity mirrors, and a large gold chandelier that was made of mini gold wind chimes. Beautiful.
Chill rest of the day, workshop and awesome devotional about 2 Kings 5. Muito bom!
Also our district is obsessed with TechDecks. Imma get good at it lol
THURSDAY
Played some Basquetebol with the boys and did some service.
Taught a lesson today and got an almost perfect score (Pic in google photos)
Learned a cool lesson today. We had to teach an invstigator on a tough question: Why does God allow people to suffer even if they are innocent and good? It was a tough one to answer, we kinda said like we trust in God's plan, we came here to have trials and to gain knowledge, etc. However, we couldn't really answer what happens to innocent children or people who suffer horrible things who die never knowing God. An incredible experience in Alma 14:10-11 (read it) explains that "the Lord receiveth them up unto himself, in glory;". We learn that these people are already Glorified and saved because of the things they went through. Wish I could explain more but this email this long. Amazing realization and huge testimony builder.
SPIRITUAL THOUGHT:
The First Counselor of the Branch Presidency challenged us on Sunday to Work on our Testimony. Along with this challenge, he brought up President Nelson's talk on Spiritual Momentum
- MOMENTUM is a POWERFUL Concept
-Discover the JOY of DAILY Repentance
-Learn about God and HOW He works
- Seek and EXPECT miracles
I encourage each of you to take these points and ponder in your hearts: How can I increase my Spiritual momentum? Realize that the Lord is helping to move a mountain in your life, maybe you know maybe you don't. You constantly have the companionship of the Holy Ghost, and through him, Jesus Christ.
