BOM DIA!! Como vocês estão?? Hope you all are doing well and loving living life!! Another week another email, let's get into it!!
PENSAMENTO ESPIRITUAL
This week's Spiritual Thought comes from the missionary section of the Doctrine and Covenants, Section 4!! This was the topic of our District Counsel and I loved it!!
The main question was:
Qual é o custo de ser discípulo de Jesus Cristo?
(What is the price to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?)
Verse 4 of secion 4 says,
"And faith, hope, charity and love, with an eye single to the glory of God, qualify him for the work."
1. Faith, "if ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you" Matthew 17:20
2. Hope, "and after ye have obtained a hope in Christ ye shall obtain riches, if ye seek them; and ye will seek them for the intent to do good—to clothe the naked, and to feed the hungry, and to liberate the captive, and administer relief to the sick and the afflicted." Jacob 2:19
3. Charity, "the Lord God hath given a commandment that all men should have charity, which charity is love. And except they should have charity they were nothing. Wherefore, if they should have charity they would not suffer the laborer in Zion to perish." 2 Nephi 26:30
4. Love, "wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, saying thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy might, mind, and strength; and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve him." D&C 59:5
Verse 3 of Section 4 says,
"Therefore, if ye have desires to serve God ye are called to the work"
Make these attributes prevalent in your life!! Have a desire and have faith, have hope, practice charity, and show love!! Be a disciple of Christ!!
WEEK RECAP!
My last week in Caucaia was amazing!! Let me tell you about it::
♡ Last Pday Elder Ferreira and I bought thumbdrives to store Irmã Fatima’s playlist of 8+GB of music!! I can only listen to it when i get home, because she says it has a mix of Brasilian music and American music. In her house the music is playing, but I'm excited to have it all for myself in less than 19 months!
♡ that same night we had a really good lesson with Guilherme, the son of Regina and had an amazing discussion about Repentance. I hope he actually takes action to stop some of the things he's been doing...
♡ on Thursday we had Divisões with Elder Madsen and Elder Crow, and this time I went out for the day with Elder Crow! He is in his second transfer, so he's still being trained. It was really fun to get to know his area, give lessons to people that needed them. We found an ELITE during the division, his name is Mauro. He is looking for a way to get rid of his addictions and bad habits. We're here to help!!
♡ sexta-feira we met up with victor again, which is kind of sad. We had stopped teaching him because really all he wanted was to speak English, but it was good, I got to say goodbye to him!
♡ that same day, we helped the Sociedade de Socorro (Relief Society) decorate and set up for a Natal brunch they would have the next day, super fun! (eu odeio glitter)
♡ also on Sexta-feira, we invited Fabio to be baptized on the 28th of December! He accepted and Elder Ferreira and his greenie will help him prepare!
♡ we spent Saturday morning at the Soc Soc Natal brunch, because we were the only people with priesthood authority available in the morning lol.
♡ right after, we hiked up to Monte Verde and met up with Jessica Daniela, a woman who really needed the help of prayer. We taught her how to pray and we'll see how itll impact her life!
♡ that night we went all the way to São Paulo to participate in the Vilazinha de Belém (Little town of Bethlehem) that the church puts on at the Temple and visitors center. It is incredible!! Absolutely beautiful. Through this month long presentation, us missionaries will receive an unbelievable amount of references!!
♡ on Sunday, we had 11 investigators at church, including Paloma's family!! Wellington was recognized as a member and also recieved the Aaronic Priesthood!!
♡ That night I said my last goodbyes to Irmã Fatima!
♡ Monday we had an awesome Conselho de Distrito, Elder Hernandez's last one!! Love the guy. He served for 25 months! Normally, Americans leave a couple weeks early lol, but he extended his mission, trained, and was Zone Leader all at the same time!!
♡ After, we had lunch at Irmã Arlene's house, and she was nice enough to make a byebye cake!!
♡ that night we were in the Grilos and had a huge Noite Familiar with all six of Wellington's family, all five of Paloma's family, and 9 of Marco's family and me and Elder Ferreira! 21 people!! I gave a presentation on the Book of Mormon, what it is, where it came from, and what it can do for us.
♡ We asked how Florisbela felt about being baptized and she said she needs more time. However, Evelyn really wants to be baptized so we'll baptize her on the 15th!! We are also trying to get Kamilly to do the same!! I'm so proud of them.
Next email I'll be in a different area with a different comp!! Catanduva B in Campo Limpo!! I'm so excited!!
If you have questions for me, email me!! Tell me your miracles!!
Love y'all!!
