MOVING DAY, NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS, MEU FILHOTE - SEMANA VINTE E QUATRO
Bom dia meus queridos! Feliz Ano Novo!
I hope y'all had a wonderful and safe New Year!! I'm so hyped for my "blackout year", where EVERY DAY throughout the year I will be in the service of my Savior as His representative. Let's gooooo
PENSAMENTO ESPIRITUAL
For my New Years Resolutions, I decided to add a scripture as a "theme". I chose a well known scripture to missionaries, Alma 36:24, which says:
"Yea, and from that time even until now, I have labored without ceasing, that I might bring souls unto repentance; that I might bring them to taste of the exceeding joy of which I did taste; that they might also be born of God, and be filled with the Holy Ghost."
I have high standards for this year:
Goals for studying
Goals for teaching
Goals to improve my personal life
Goals to improve my habits
Goals to be fully consecrated
I'm so excited for the opportunity I have this entire year to give EVERYTHING I have to the Lord. I am excited to see my individual, physical, mental, and spiritual growth between now and the next New Year.
I hope each one of you made goals to improve your life from last year! Make them prayerfully and with great intentions. They should challenge you, because that means you are making an effort to change. Show your Heavenly Father that you want to improve your life throught showing your faith and trusting in Him.
I promise that as you do this, the windows of heaven will pour blessings upon you, because our Heavenly Father thinks so highly of YOU. He knows you can always be better. Know he loves you. Trust Him.
WEEKLY RECAP
- This week was a great week! Very strange, we actually moved apartments, from one block to another. Kind of annoying, but we got to work and we finished the move in one day (8am-5pm) which was a miracle, we even had enough time to hit the streets!
- Hit SIX MONTHS since being set apart on Jan 1st! Time flies!!
- We met up with a reference, Raul, who said he 'thinks' he was baptized in our church when he was 7.... He already has knowledge about Joseph Smith and stuff like that so we got his full name and date of birth and.... turns out he has NO records of being baptized in the church he just has to stop living in his gf's house...
- We met up with another reference who is SO INCREDIBLY ELITE, we just cant mark his baptism yet bc he's not married legally. Pray for Ícaro! We met him this Saturday and he went to church the next day!! He told us he wants to be baptized
- (We have about 8 investigators who can be baptized but can't because they aren't married. Law of Chastity is important y’all. Anyways, we have a really good friend in the Mission Presidency who can help us with marrying people so we are gonna give him a call later today)
- We got a call from the Sister missionaries in our Zone and they handed us a free baptism!! This lady is so sweet, has a desire to be baptized so in our first meeting with her we gave her a date for the 19th of January! Pray for Maria!! She has a lot of health problems so pray for her health and that she'll be able to come to church!!
- Yesterday we met with another reference who had interest in the Book of Mormon! We gave an amazing lesson about the Restoration and the BoM and he loved the idea of the Priesthood of God being RESTORED. We are definitely coming back
--We visited another reference and she and her son LOVED the idea that Jesus visited the Americas! They promised to read Ch11 and we going back in a couple days!
- We had our interviews with President Hunt, and it went super well! He told me that this next transfer I would be TRAINING!! My filhote (son) will be a greenie Brasilian! I'm so excited and grateful for the opportunity to train!!
Love all you guys! I hope you're all doing well and have wonderful plans this year! Let me know how y'all are doing!!
Saudades,
Elder Stock
