PENSAMENTO ESPIRITUAL

Its PÁSCOA season!!
Happy Easter season to everybody!
This is a very special week, and the most important of the whole year!!
Being a little low on time, I would love to leave all of you with the same invitation as my mission pres! (I hope it translates okay)

During this Easter week, earnestly seek to strengthen your personal testimony of the Atonement and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Take time to study the last week of the Savior’s earthly ministry and come to know the Son of God better. The Scriptures are described in the “Harmony of the Gospels,” following the Bible Dictionary - “Ⅳ. The Last Week: Atonement and Resurrection.”

On Thursday, take time to go to Gethsemane. In our day, the Savior still asks friends to “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.” The Savior needs us to be awake, alert, and attentive to His work of salvation. Take time to reflect on this infinite and eternal sacrifice and how we can follow His example by allowing our will to be absorbed in the will of the Father. Consider how in our lives we can refuse to back down in the face of adversity. As Elder Neal A. Maxwell taught, “Not retreating is more important than surviving.”

On Friday, take time to come back to the foot of the cross. Carefully consider the Savior’s words and actions—His love, care, loyalty, and forgiveness. As Elder Jeffrey R. Holland taught, “You and I will never meet on that cross, but we will meet again and again at its foot. And how we act there will say much about what we think of the character of Christ and His calling to be His disciples.”

On Sunday, take time to visit the empty tomb. Imagine being greeted by angels and being told, “He is not here, but He is rising again.” Think of the reunions you will have with your departed family and friends. Indeed, “as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive” (1 Corinthians 15:22).
